Is your occupancy sensor a motion sensor controller?

Absolutely.

Thanks to the PIR (Passive InfraRed) with which it is equipped, it is able to constantly monitor the environment in which it is installed, and if it does not detect movement it intervenes to turn off the air conditioner.
