P1 Occupancy Sensor model must be connected via cable to the air conditioner's power supply because the cable connection allows it to understand if the air conditioner has been turned off as per its command; in other words, it carries out a bi-directional control by constantly detecting the current with which the air conditioner is operating and intervening again to turn it off if a "foreign" element has intervened to turn it back on.

Clearly, if the guest is in the room, Praesentia will not turn off the air conditioner.
