R3 V2 Special Functions
01. Temperature Lock.R3 is factory-set to control air conditioners at temperature ranges of 23° C to 30° C for cooling, and 17° C to 23° C for heating. The owner can change these ranges as desired, choosing from a minimum of 17° C to a maximum of 30° C. Once programmed with the preferred temperatures, your guests will only be able to operate the remote control within these preset ranges.
02. Comfort Effect.The “Comfort Effect” is a unique, special and optional function, essential for helping the guest feel comfortable. It enables the remote control to display a different temperature than the one actually selected by the guest.
03. Mode Lock.The “Mode Lock” disables the MODE button on the remote control, so that it remains locked on the function currently in use, preventing the guest (and other people) from changing the mode from “Cooling” to “Heat”, or from “Fan Only” to “Dehumidifier / Dry”. A useful function if you want to make only one mode available to your guests. As an example, this can prevent mode changes from sending the motor into lockout in multi-split systems, whose electronics very often cannot manage simultaneous and conflicting signals (e.g., Hot – Cold).
04. Smart Mode Lock.The “Smart Mode Block” function represents an alternative to “Mode Block”, and allows the remote control to operate not just in a single chosen mode (as happens with the “Mode Block”), but also in other modes similar to it.
By activating the function while in “Cooling” mode, the remote control will be allowed to operate in the “Cooling”, “Dry” and “Fan Only” modes.
By activating the function while in “Heating” mode, remote control will be allowed to operate in the “Heating” and “Fan Only” modes.
05. Super Simplex Mode.The “Super Simplex mode” is designed to make the remote control more streamlined and comfortable for guests by disabling some of the buttons and related commands. A useful option if you want to give your guests a remote control with limited functionality. Activating Super Simplex mode will block all available additional functions, with only the ON-OFF buttons, temperature adjustment, fan speed and the button for changing modes remaining usable.
Note: You can activate “Super Simplex” in combination with “Mode Lock” to provide your guests with an even more “minimal” and easy-to-use remote control.
06. Fan Lock.The “Fan Speed Lock” function is used to lock the fan speed at a desired value. Useful if you do not want to allow guests to change the fan power.
07. Anti-tampering.Access to programming is protected by an unlock sequence that only the owner knows. This means your guests will never be able to change your settings.
08. Dual Lock.Do you want even more security? SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control has a unique “dual lock” system that makes access to programming even more secure and impenetrable.
09. Pairing by Brand.R3 remote control has 3 ways of pairing with your air conditioner. In addition to the standard code entry method or the automatic code search, R3 can quickly find the right pairing code based on your air conditioner brand. It’s never been faster or easier to get a remote control up and running!
10. Backlighting.R3 has a backlit LCD display, making it easy to read even in dark environments, like a hotel room at night. The remote control can be used without disturbing other resting guests.
11. LED Flashlight.R3 is equipped with a convenient and powerful LED flashlight. You never know when it might come in handy to have that extra light available.
12. 100% Anonymous.Last but by no means least, the SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control has no distinguishing branding or logos, making it completely anonymous to guests. Only the owner knows about the remote’s special features and is therefore safe from any attempts to bypass the preset limits.

Note: There are often multiple codes for each brand. If the codes are separated by a dash (e.g., SAMSUNG, 610-629) it means that the correct code for your air conditioner may be a number between 610 and 629. If the codes are separated by a comma (e.g., SAMSUNG, 361), that is the specific number to be used.
Once you have found the pairing code, test it and try all the normal functions offered by the remote control. If it doesn't work properly with your air conditioner, you haven't found the right code yet. Try another code until you find the one that works perfectly with your air conditioner.

#01 – What is the SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control?
The SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control is the most complete and advanced hotel-specific remote, designed with many special functions that will transform your air conditioning into a more comfortable and sustainable system for your guests, while saving you money on your electricity bill. R3 is a universal remote control designed to replace the original device and is easy to program even for those with no expertise.
#02 – How does it work?
The SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control is designed to replace the traditional remote control. It saves energy – and money – by preventing air conditioner temperatures from being set too hot or too cold, or by limiting the operating modes available to your guests.
#03 – How does it save electricity?
Recommended air conditioning temperatures are no lower than a comfortable 23° ~ 25° C for cooling and no higher than 20° ~ 21° C for heating, but people normally set temperatures much lower or higher than these. When air conditioning is set at very low or high temperatures, energy consumption increases (up to 40%!) as does the risk of breakdown due to the increased use of the unit’s motor.
#04 – How can the SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control help me?
The SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control is effective as soon as you activate it. It’s hard to estimate savings in wear and tear and maintenance, but the cost of air conditioner repair or replacement is so high that avoiding just one repair or extending the air conditioner’s life span are both already significant savings.
#05 – Will the SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control extend the life of my air conditioner?
By stopping it from running at very cold or very hot temperatures, the SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control helps moderate the air conditioner’s workload, thereby reducing overall wear and tear and extending the life span of the unit.
#06 – How do I know if the remote control will work with my air conditioner?
R3 has the most comprehensive set of pairing codes currently available. This guarantees compatibility with 99% of existing air conditioning units, well over 15,000 international brands and models.
Tip: look up your air conditioner’s pairing code in the “Pairing Codes Table” above.
#07 – Is R3 also compatible with the Olimpia Splendid Unico that doesn’t have an external unit?
It certainly is! We can confirm without any doubt that the R3 remote control is the only alternative device currently available on the market that is also compatible with the Olimpia Splendid Unico, the model without an external unit.
#08 – I looked at all the pairing codes in the table, but I can’t find the exact model of my air conditioner.
The pairing code is a universal code that is used to link our remote control with your air conditioner, and it has nothing to do with the model code of your conditioner. It’s important to know only the brand of the air conditioner, not the exact model.
#09 – I can’t find my air conditioner brand in the list of pairing codes. Does this mean that the R3 remote control is not compatible with my air conditioner?
The R3 remote control is compatible with 99% of existing models and brands. If your air conditioner brand is not listed in the Pairing Codes Table, it means that you will need to do an automatic code search to associate the remote control with your air conditioner, or that your air conditioner matches the codes identified in the table as “OTHER BRANDS”.
#10 – How do I pair the remote control with my air conditioner?
You can pair the R3 remote control with your air conditioner in 3 ways: through Manual Code Entry, Automatic Code Search or Brand Search. You will find full instructions on how to do this in the user manual.
#11 – Do I need a remote control for each split?
Usually yes. During set up, the SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control is paired with the air conditioner, which means it is locked to that particular manufacturer/model. The SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control can be moved to other air conditioners, but if they are from a different manufacturer or a different model, you will be prompted to redo the setup procedure.
#12 – What is the Mode Lock used for?
The “Mode Lock” function disables the MODE button, so the remote control remains “locked” on the function currently in use, preventing the guest (and other people) from changing the mode from “Cooling” to “Heat”, or from “Fan Only” to “Dehumidifier”. This is a useful function if you want to make only one mode available to your guests. As an example, this can prevent mode changes from sending the external motor into lockout in multi-split systems, which are unable to manage signals that conflict with each other (e.g., hot/cold).
#13 – What is the Super Simplex mode used for?
“Super Simplex” makes the remote control more streamlined in its available functions by disabling some of the buttons. A useful option if you want to give your guests a remote control with limited functionality. When “Super Simplex” mode is activated, all additional functions will be blocked except the ON-OFF button, the buttons to adjust the temperature, the button to adjust the fan speed, and the button to change modes.
#14 – Can I use the functions offered by Mode Lock and those offered by Super Simplex at the same time?
Absolutely! The 2 functions can be activated together.
#15 – How does Comfort Effect work, and what is it used for?
“Comfort Effect” is a special function, unique in its kind, which allows the remote control to display a different temperature than the one actually selected by the guest. Suppose we want to give our guests the impression that they can lower the temperature to 20° C, when in fact we don’t want the real temperature to drop below 23° C. Thanks to “Comfort Effect”, this can be done in a very simple way: once set as desired, the remote control lets our guest “virtually” reduce the temperature below the real set limit of 23° C until a temperature of 20° C is shown on the display, although in reality the temperature will never drop below 23° C.
The guest feels comfortable, and does not try to bypass the preset limits, as he is not aware of them.
#16 – If I use the SaveOnAirCo R3 remote control, will my old remote control still work?
Absolutely. If you want to use your existing remote control, it will work as normal. Bear in mind, however, that it won’t save you electricity and certainly not money. Most of our customers keep the original remote control only as a substitute if needed.
#17 – Why the backlighting?
Backlighting allows guests to comfortably use the remote control even in the dark without disturbing the room’s other occupants. This increases guest satisfaction even more.
#18 – How can I prevent my guests from changing the settings?
To access programming, and then configure the settings, the remote control must first be unlocked, and only the owner knows how to do this procedure.
#19 – What if a guest manages to unlock it?
Impossible. The R3 remote control is equipped with a unique “dual lock” system; this makes access to programming totally secure and impenetrable.
#20 – What are the F.COOL and F.HEAT buttons for?
The F.COOL button activates Rapid Cooling mode. In this mode, the air conditioner will be set to run at 21° C, maximum fan speed and automatic airflow direction.
The F.HEAT button activates Rapid Heating mode. In this mode, the air conditioner will be set to run at 27° C, maximum fan speed and automatic airflow direction.
Note that if you have changed the temperature limits for Cooling and/or Heating, F.COOL and F.HEAT mode will respect those ranges and the temperature will never fall below or rise above your preset limits.
#21 – Is R3 equipped with on and/or off timers?
If your aim is to ensure that the air conditioner is off when there are no guests in the room, we recommend that you look at our “Occupancy Sensors” product line, which was created specifically to meet this type of need.

Already a happy owner of the old “R1” model, more difficult to program, I tried the new “R3” version (much simpler and more complete to configure) and I must say that it really is a product that should never be missing in an accommodation facility to avoid the waste of electricity that too many guests produce by piloting the air conditioners (or heat pumps) with “unsuitable” temperatures that make the machines always work at their limit, producing a high and useless consumption of electricity as well as pollution (noise and environment). This remote control is enough (and possibly some other small trick) to subvert this situation. Today here in the province of Taranto by the sea (Salento coast) there are already 44 C degrees at 10.35 AM, running the climate I have in the rooms (Mitsubishi) at 26 C degrees depending on the climate, in 30 minutes the room is far too cold; in doing so, the climate reaches the desired temperature and gradually begins to decrease consumption down to truly acceptable values (after 50 minutes they drop from an initial 850w to 470w with a further decrease over time (I have home automation on each machine and I am able to monitor consumption) up to about 350w when the temperature reaches 26 C degrees. If a guest had turned on the climate at 16 degrees I would have about 900w constantly all the time with a room similar to a igloo and perhaps the guest’s request for a quilt (it has happened to me quite a few times). With my climates, even simple dehumidification is enough to create a comfortable environment (with consumption further reduced to 260w). So I advise everyone to consider this indispensable controller which, although expensive, pays for itself (especially in an accommodation facility and in the warmer or colder seasons) in just a few weeks. And then the “super symplex” function takes away the entanglements of all those “tech-negative” guests who they tinker “as if there were no tomorrow” on the remote control by continuously inverting the cycles, then complaining to the managers about the malfunctioning of the air conditioning (which they themselves cause to go haywire).

I purchased three of these very convenient remote controls. Out of three air conditioners of the same brand I only had to look up the code for one of them, the others worked directly. I set the temperature of 25 which was also easy to program. The comfort function is spectacular, it lets you reduce the display by maximum 5 degrees, so the guest thinks it’s at 20 but the conditioner is running at 25. In the instructions it says that the guest might notice if the air conditioner has a display with the set temperature, so I put a simple piece of cardboard inside the conditioner screen, and you can no longer see the set temperature. I would say it’s perfect for my B&B, and highly recommended.
